While in college I was the classmate that my friends came to for advice or at least felt very comfortable talking to me about their issues. They talked; I listened. That approachability seemed to put my friends at ease when they were dealing with something that was frustrating. I became a fitness buff and spent my spare time in the campus gym exercising. I then found myself bombarded with questions from my college mates about how to exercise. So, you see I was coaching and not realizing I was doing it (before it even became a profession). Afterall, I was in school for pre-med. After graduating college while waiting to get into med school I became a certified personal fitness trainer/coach. I was damn good at it. Helping people transform their body and their thoughts about themselves.
My brother introduced me to the book, "The power of your subconscious mind," by Dr. Joseph Murphy and it impacted my life. That was my first introduction into self-development and mindset connection. The more I read about who I am and the life I am supposed to live, the more I wanted to keep reading similar books. I loved the truth that I had control of my life. That my life gets created from within me. This opened me up to new possibilities, new opportunities. I was ready to own my truth but still had self-doubt. No one in my inner circle was talking about mind stuff, God in me stuff, create your own life stuff. I worked with a fellow trainer at the gym who invited me to the Landmark forum weekend experience at Landmark Education, and it blew my mind. It was about personal transformation, and self-awareness at such a deep level. I wanted more as I saw so much for my life in a way I'd never seen before.
Although I kept growing within Landmark, once out in the world though I was still believed I wasn't worthy of a better life other than what I was living. I went through intense leadership and coach training at Landmark and emerged a powerful and more confident woman able to speak up for myself and move, touch and inspire others to transform their life. I lead workshops throughout NYC for three years. I hit the ground running after my stint at Landmark. Beginning my career in motivational speaking, leading workshops at bookstores, women's ministry at churches, conducting my own women led workshops, and guest speaker on a local radio station in Atlanta. Continuing to work through my own conditioned narrative while coaching wasn't easy. I loved when my clients would come back to me and share how their life had changed from my coaching. It took hearing this over and over to believe and own this for myself, the impact that I could make on other people's lives.
I did all the right things in life. Wanting my parents to be proud of me. Doing a life that looked like everyone else's; what I call a cookie cutter life. Deep inside I wanted chuck it all and go fully as a coach. After years of feeling unfulfilled, choosing careers I thought I liked I finally said yes to me, yes to joy, yes to waking up every morning excited to live a life I really wanted. The breaking point for me was another birthday gone by feeling trapped, another boss putting a cap on my time and income, another company telling me how & when I can grow, another holiday missed with my family because I had to work, another extended vacay I couldn't enjoy with my friends, and just plain ole another day waking up not doing what I really wanted to do....
Now, here I am joyfully your career transition coach for women. I know what that career transition is like, and I'm here to assist you in that freedom!
I believe in helping you unlock the power within you to achieve your goals and dreams. I designed my coaching to help you tap into your inner strength and wisdom, overcome obstacles and challenges, and create a life that aligns with your deepest values and aspirations. I'm here to support you in your journey.
